"I bought the 17 cm size. Very good sound. If you just circle it, the sound appears on its own, without even striking the bowl. The small raised marks inside the bowl increase the vibrations even more. One of the best bowls."

Hand-Hammered Bowls — 4.9/5 from 105 verified purchases

The three photo reviews below are all 5-star and all from buyers of the 6.7 in bowl, the largest in the range. They call out the same two things: the sound, and how easily the tone starts when you circle the rim rather than strike it.

Two details in these reviews deserve a straight answer. First, the "17 cm size" one buyer names is our 6.7 in bowl — the widest we sell, and the one these three photos show. Second, the mallet that ships with a bowl is scaled to that bowl; if you want a heavier, leather-wrapped head for rounder tones, that is exactly what our leather mallets are for. And note the cushions in the photos below: red, red and pink. Each set is paired by hand as it is finished, so the one that arrives at your door is yours alone.

Starter Set, 3.1 in — 4.5/5 from 361 verified purchases

The starter set averages 4.5/5 across 361 verified purchases, our highest-volume product. Buyers single out the engraving, the silk cushion and the double-ended mallet, and every review below was left by someone who bought this exact set.

The starter set pairs the 3.1 in engraved bowl with a yellow silk cushion and a 4.9 in double-ended mallet, wood on one end, leather on the other. The bowl carries a Flower of Life motif engraved inside its base.

Photos below were taken by the buyers themselves.

Rim singing is technique, not luck, and it is the one thing worth learning on day one. Rest the bowl on a flat palm, press the mallet firmly against the outside of the rim, and circle slowly with even pressure. Every bowl we sell will sing; slow your hand down and it will start answering you within a session or two. Mira Chandran — Sound practitioner & product lead at Nadam

Leather Mallets — 4.65/5 from 23 reviews

All three mallet photo reviews are 5-star, and they read like woodworkers wrote them: even seam edges, no bulges in the stitching, hardwood that feels "heavy, just right". The three head sizes are matched to the seven diameters we sell, so there is one made for the bowl you choose.

Three sizes, one construction: a turned hardwood handle with a stitched leather head. Small (5.1 × 1 in) suits the 3.1, 3.5 and 4.3 in bowls, Medium (7.1 × 1 in) is the all-rounder, and the Large head (7.1 × 1.6 in) draws deeper tones out of bigger bowls. The full size guide is on the leather mallets page.

Where do these reviews come from?

From verified purchases of the exact products Nadam sells — each reviewer's purchase is confirmed before their review is accepted. We selected the reviews that came with photos, translated the non-English ones, and published each buyer's own wording. More on who we are and why we work this way on our about page.

Can I leave my own review?

Yes, please. If you bought a Nadam bowl, set or mallet, send your review and a photo or two through our contact page — a few sentences on the sound, the finish and how it arrived is perfect. We publish honest reviews whether they are 5-star or not; every review we publish is about a product in the Nadam catalog, and spam is the one thing that gets filtered out.

Why do some reviews say only "Verified buyer" with no country?

We display a country only when the order shipped to a region we currently serve: the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. Reviews from buyers in other regions are real and verified all the same — they are simply shown as "Verified buyer". Delivery times for your region are on the shipping page.
