Two details in these reviews deserve a straight answer. First, the "17 cm size" one buyer names is our 6.7 in bowl — the widest we sell, and the one these three photos show. Second, the mallet that ships with a bowl is scaled to that bowl; if you want a heavier, leather-wrapped head for rounder tones, that is exactly what our leather mallets are for. And note the cushions in the photos below: red, red and pink. Each set is paired by hand as it is finished, so the one that arrives at your door is yours alone.

Rim singing is technique, not luck, and it is the one thing worth learning on day one. Rest the bowl on a flat palm, press the mallet firmly against the outside of the rim, and circle slowly with even pressure. Three sizes, one construction: a turned hardwood handle with a stitched leather head. Small (5.1 × 1 in) suits the 3.1, 3.5 and 4.3 in bowls, Medium (7.1 × 1 in) is the all-rounder, and the Large head (7.1 × 1.6 in) draws deeper tones out of bigger bowls.
